Red Crescent Society appeals to civil society that Seva Hi Dharm Hai, Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas and vikas can be done through co-operative systems where civil society involve themselves, which example is Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. All these stated are developed by co-operative movement. Society requests you to kindly join us in this noble cause. There is thousands of small and big work which has been done which is impossible to bring in two pages that is done by our volunteers. As head of the organization, I am thankful to all volunteers that they have spared their valuable time and support to the society for this noble cause.

Demonstration against TADA Law

The Society has taken strong action under the Leadership of Late Shri Manyawar Kanshi Ram on the street and Miss Mamta Banerjee in Parliament and full support was extended by them. Mass processions were taken out from Azad Maidan to Kala Ghoda and millions of telegrams were sent to the Government of India to remove the TADA draconian Law, which under that pressure the Government of India has abolished the Law.

Latur Earthquake

During the earthquake which had shaken Latur, doctors and volunteers from Red Crescent Society rushed there with life saving medicines and camps were set up for the victims. Doctors and volunteers worked with full dedication in treating the victims and their rehabilitation.

War Victims of Iraq

Society has done international work by sending relief to war victims to Iraq as well as various foreign countries during crisis. It is first NGO who have got opportunity through various sources in Government of India where several governments have not reached on time. Rescue and relief is required on time.Time is matter and by your prayers and devotion volunteers have reached and crossed the boundary and delivered the medical rescue, relief and rehabilitation work.

Gujarat Earthquake

When in January 2001, earthquake had struck in Gujarat, the society sent a team of 250 doctors to set up relief camps and assist with relief, rescue and rehabilitation work. Relief centres were set up at Ahmedabad, Anjaar, Bhuj, Bhachau and Gandhidham. Anjaar centre was converted to a 50 bed hospital, which also had two operations theatres to take care of emergency cases. At least 1 lakh patients were treated and 70,000 were operated. Many serious patients were brought to Mumbai by the society and admitted in various hospitals in the city.

Mumbai Riots

When there were communal riots and Mumbai was burning, the society went all out to help the victims, without any discrimination of caste and creed. The camps of Red Crescent Society have worked effortlessly round the clock for the treating the patients coming from various affected parts of Mumbai. Many camps were organized in Mumbai also for collection of relief material for the victim of earthquakes.

Gujarat Floods

When there was heavy rainfall and Gujarat was flooded, doctors, para-medical staff and volunteers from our Society reached out to the people with relief material and medicines. The victims were rescued and those with serious conditions were admitted to hospitals by our rescue teams

Vaccination Programme

The society has also undertaken a massive campaign of Hepatitis-B program, which resulted in 20 million people of this country, especially minor children having benefitted from the said campaign. This was also launched in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh where the awareness program for the disease was undertaken. This was followed by MMR and Typhoid vaccinations by the society. Various camps were conducted where doctors administered vaccines to about one lakh children.

Gujarat Riots

At the time of Gujarat riots, Red Crescent Society immediately sent a team of qualified doctors along with medicines to meet the emergency needs of the riot victims who were struggling for survival. A delegation from Red Crescent Society visited a hospital which is managed by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and after visiting the patients in the wards, life saving drugs was given to the authorities for the treatment of victim. The delegation also visited riot affected areas Neruda Fruit Market where some shops were burnt and damaged.

Fire in Mumbai Slums

In Mumbai, when the slums of Rafi Nagar and Sanjay Nagar were burning and thousands of people were rendered homeless, team of volunteers from the society rushed to the rescue of the victims and provided basic and necessary amenities to the families and also extended support for their rehabilitation.

Operation Jeevan Sangharsh – Uttarakhand

Operation Jeevan Sangharsh of Uttarakhand started from 1st July, 2013. Five ambulances, 40 doctors and volunteers, 4000 blankets, 4000 saris with blouses, 20 tons of packed food were sent on 29th June from Uttar Pradesh branch, Delhi and Uttarakhand. Some specialist doctors and first consignment of medicines worth Rs. 10 lakhs was sent from Mumbai as relief to Uttarakhand victims. Small interaction and send off program of doctors and medical aid was held where Honourable Mr. Chhagan Bhujbal, Minister of Public Works & Special Assistance Department, at his bungalow Ramtek, Mumbai and our Chairman Mr. Arshad Siddiqui, Red Crescent Society of India flagged off relief material and doctors, volunteers were handed over the medicines to Air India as they were going to deliver free.We were given warm welcome by the District Collector of Rudra Prayag and other officials. After seeing the ground situation, we tried our best to do little bit. Our teams stayed for 2 days and some medicines, food packets and blankets were distributed but we have felt that acute requirement was where we could not reach and any other civilian could not reach. We felt that it was not proper time to disturb officials and armed forces. Therefore, our team and Honourable Chairman decided to come back. While coming back, there were three to four landslides, so the roads were blocked for two to three hours and we highly appreciate our armed forces that they have contributed in this noble cause as well as all missionaries, which we feel will take long time to repair the damage. Our good wishes to all state employees and citizens that have helped in relief work.In Lakhimpur, the Society members held a candle march for the victims and the jawans who lost their lives rescuing the people. The candle march started from Ram Janaki Mandir and ended at Barwar Chouraha.

Operation Jeevan Sangharsh – Tsunami

Operation Jeevan Sangharsh during tsunami, Red Crescent Society deputed medicos, para-medicals staff and volunteers to affected areas of Chennai, Vishakapatnam, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In addition to the relief material like blankets, disposable injections, intravenous fluids, stretchers, etc. surgical equipments and tablets were also sent in case an epidemic breaks out.

Floods in Mumbai

On 26 July 2005, Mumbai region was struck with a heavy storm. Local train and all other traffic movement came to a halt by afternoon due to the water logging on the tracks and roads. Volunteers from Red Crescent Society were out to help in the rescue and relief work for people who were stuck up on the roads due to water logging everywhere and no transport to reach their homes.

About Districts in Uttar Pradesh

Society has adopted three districts in Uttar Pradesh, i.e. Lakhimpur, Sitapur and Hardoi and past three years there is 150,000 voters making. Operation fire and flood successfully going on. Six ambulances and 50,000 volunteer doctors are ready for working. Now the society is handling flood problem in Tari area. Society has done medical camps where 20,000 people have been given free medicines and free medical check-up.Society is ready to make Teshil Day Medical Centre and is making 250 bedded hospital at Lakhimpur to cater the patients and give various treatments. Society has pledged to bring Lakhimpur, Sitapur and Hardoi on world map

Sarvadharm Samaj Group Marriage

In May 2013, the society had arranged a sarvadharm samaj group marriage in Uttar Pradesh where around 76 couples got married. The society has plans to conduct group marriage programs for 1000 couples

Floods in Lakhimpur

In the recent floods in Lakhimpur, the Society had sent their team of doctors and volunteers to help in the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the victims. The society also distributed packed food packets, water, clothes and blankets to the victims.
